Hyderabad: A delegation consisting of organizers of Bonalu and Moharrum processions today met Home Minister Mahmood Ali and urged him to find out a permanent solution for providing elephant for these processions, instead of bringing an elephant on hire from neighboring States.
The delegation also requested the Home Minister to file a review petition against the orders of the High Court by the State government to get suitable orders to provide elephant from Nehru Zoological Park. The minister promised to take up the matter with Endowment Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy to consider the issue favorably as it is a traditional practice and involved the religious sentiments of the people.
