Hyderabad: Muslim Minority educational institutions in India have a greater responsibility to instill a sense of confidence in the students to accept the challenges they are facing with and compete with the rest of the world. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor expressed the view today while inaugurating 10th Annual Orientation Programme for Heads of Muslim Minority Managed Institutions of Higher Learning on administrative leadership here atMaulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).
UGC – Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of MANUU in collaboration withNational Institute of Educational Planning & Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi is organizing the Orientation Program today.
Addressing the inaugural as Chief Guest, Dr. Parvaiz spoke about various issues and problems faced by Muslim minority managed institutions and suggested practical means and methods to tackle them. An able person will definitely get a job, we need to build the personality and positive attitude of the student, he remarked. The bond of humanity is the strongest, nobody can win with hatred, only love is needed to conquer the world, he continued.
Earlier Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar and Director I/c UGC-HRDC welcomed the guests and spoke about the unique nature of the program & advised the participants to take advantage through peer learning during the programme. Prof. Najma Akhtar, Head, Dept. of Training and Capacity Building in Education, NIEPA, & the director of the orientation program while speaking about the objectives of the programme said the NIEPA organizes one program each, every year for minority schools and colleges at National level. This is a good platform for sharing innovative ideas and best practices. Minorities in India demand equalistic treatment. In terms of literacy rate Muslim Minority is far behind the others. The objective of the program is to create awareness among the leaders and managers of minority institutions about the changing scenario of the higher education in India.
