Overseas scholarship given for 1133 students: Kamalakar

Hyderabad: BC welfare Minister G Kamalakar today said that the state government has been encouraging students to pursue foreign studies.

Minister Kamalakar said that Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao is kind enough to help 1133 students go for foreign studies so far.  During question hour in the assembly, he said that 1133 students got benefits of overseas scholarship in past few years.  The government has spent Rs 184.70 cr for the overseas scholarship program in the state.

From 2016 to this year 1133 students got the financial support for foreign studies he said. Under the program Rs 20 lakhs being offered to each student in Telangana state.

Ours is a welfare state and no other state offers such financial and to its students and people he said.  In spite of the corona crisis, the government is going ahead with welfare schemes the minister said.  Telangana is the number one state in the country in implementing welfare programs,  he added.
