Owaisi congratulates CM KCR for his entry into national politics

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi congratulated Telangana Chief Minister and TRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao for his entry into national politics on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, shortly after the Chief Minister made a formal announcement at the party headquarters about the transformation of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi into the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, the AIMIM Chief congratulated the TRS Chief.

Owaisi wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on TRS party’s transformation into a national party. My best wishes to the party on their new beginning.”

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has been renamed to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), paving the way for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to enter into national politics.

The decision was made at the TRS’s general body meeting on Wednesday at Telangana Bhavan, the party’s headquarters.

On the other hand, the Telangana units of the BJP and Congress criticized Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for renaming the TRS on Wednesday, saying it was motivated by political greed.

Telangana PCC President Revanth Reddy claimed Rao had killed Telangana’s existence and that the renaming of Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi was done to settle family disputes and satisfy political greed.

Reddy, who claimed that KCR is ineligible to contest elections in Telangana, said that as a son of the soil, he strongly condemned Rao’s “evil ideas.”

Telangana BJP chief spokesperson K Krishna Sagar Rao called Chief Minister Rao’s plan to enter the national political sphere a “misadventure.” While Chandrashekhar Rao struggled to maintain “his government financially operational”, the national level expansion bid is an unworthy exercise, he added.

He said that he strongly believes CM KCR’s initiative will be a self-sabotage. Change of the name from TRS to BRS will lead to losing his home turf, while he embarks on a wasteful national ambition, he added.
