Pakistan Allow Wheat To Transport From India

In the latest update, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that they would “favourably” consider the request of the Taliban-led Afghanistan to transport the wheat offered by India for humanitarian purposes.

Pakistan’s PMO Issues Statement 

The statement was issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). In the statement, Khan expresses his views while speaking to a delegation led by Afghanistan’s Acting Foreing Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Muttaqi is currently in Pakistan on three days visit and was accompanied by the Acting Ministers of Finance and Industry and Commerce along with some other senior members of the Afghan delegation.

During the meeting, Khan said that Pakistan will support Afghanistan and Afghan people in overcoming the challenges they are currently facing.

He further stressed on the importance of a peaceful, stable and sovereign Afghanistan for Pakistan and other regions.

Pak PM Hopes Taliban-Led Government To “Constructively Engage” With International Community

Talking about Pakistan’s continued support to the nation, he said it is important for Afghanistan’s stability should promote respect for rights of all Afghans and resolute for counter-terrorism.

Khan further expressed that he hopes that the interim Afghan government would continue to “constructively engage” with the international community dn would continue to take positive measures to address the challenges.

This comes after Pakistan and China skipped the NSA-level meeting regarding the engagement with Afghanistan within the other South Asia nations. Following the meeting, the Taliban spokesperson said that they are optimistic that meetings like these will be a benefit for the nation.

Afghanistan was taken over by Taliban in August this year after toppling the government. The WHO recently warned that about a million children would die of malnutrition if the nations don’t act quickly. Meanwhile, the Human Rights Watch also urged the nations to lift the sanctions on Afghanistan to keep the cash flow in the country going.
