Palla hits out at Congress for loose talk on ex-officio members’ vote in polls

Hyderabad: TRS leaders Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Suman today lashed out at the Congress for spreading false information on ex-officio members’ role with regard to municipal elections and using their votes.

Talking to media persons here, they accused the Congress party of having no common sense on the civic elections. “The Congress and the BJP were trying to blame the TRS government in this regard”, Rajeshwar Reddy said. Before making charges against the TRS, the BJP should think of its own strength and support by people, if any, he suggested. He said TRS MP K Keshav Rao and Congress MP KVP Ramachandra Rao had agreed on swapping their voting rights.

“Rajya Sabha officially clarified the situation but Congress was still trying to be smart, he ridiculed.  MPs K Keshav Rao and KVP Ramachandra Rao spoke and have changed their representation to their own States”, the TRS leader reiterated. The people rejected the Congress in the polls and gave support to the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said, adding despite the MPs changed options, the Congress leadership was indulging false talk.

“As per Constitutional privileges, the MPs can exercise their rights as the ex-officio members to cast their votes in the polls. The people have voted the TRS to power again with total confidence. Congress should try to change its attitude, otherwise, they will face brunt”, he warned.
