Pawan Kalyan asks farmers to revolt if govt acquires their lands forcibly

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has called upon the farmers to revolt against the Andhra Pradesh government if it tried to grab their lands forcibly in the name of capital city construction, development and road widening and assured them that he will stand by them in this regard.

Pawan met the farmers, who were losing their lands as part of capital city construction, at Undavalli in Guntur district here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the farmers lamented that the government was forcefully taking their lands though they have no interest to give their lands to the government. They asked Pawan how they could live after losing their lands.

Reacting on it, Pawan said the government has to acquire lands only if the farmers agree to it. Pawan asked the government to tell as to how it will takes the lands, in which 120 types of crops will be cultivated, from the farmers forcefully. He made it clear that he will wage movement against the government if it taken lands forcefully from the farmers. He said that he would have not supported TDP if he expected this sort of exploitation of farmers in the name of capital city construction. He said the government branded him as anti-development element when he brought the plight of the land owners to the notice of the government. He also warned that he will not keep quiet if the government tries to take lands forcefully from the farmers. (NSS)
