Pensioners contribute Rs 4 crore to Kerala people

Hyderabad: In a gesture of sorts, Telangana State Retired Employees Association today came forward to provide Rs 4 cr towards relief and rescue operations in the rain-hit Kerala State.

A delegation of the association president PR Mohan and general secretary G Damodar Reddy and others today called on the Chief Secretary SK Joshi and offer a letter in this regard. They appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for contributing the cash and kind to the flood victims of Kerala state. There are nearly two lakh retired employees in Telangana State, including service and family pensioners. The association has about 200 mandals units in 31 districts who agreed to contribute to help Kerala flood victims they said.

They said they offered the amount towards relief and rescue measures in the flood hit Kerala state and provide help to the victims. We have offered to deduct Rs 200 of service pensioners and Rs 100 from family pensioners for the purpose they said. The government was appealed to instruct the officials concerned to take necessary steps from August pension they added. (NSS)
