PM Modi scheduled to visit Hyderabad on Jan 19 to launch several railway projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch various railway projects worth Rs 2,400 crore in Telangana, as well as flagging off a Vande Bharat Express train between Hyderabad and Vijayawada, according to a BJP press release issued here on Monday.

In anticipation of Modi’s visit to the state, BJP State President and Lok Sabha member Bandi Sanjay Kumar and OBC Morcha National President and Rajya Sabha member K Laxman visited the Secunderabad Railway Station and met with South Central Railway officials, it said.

The PM will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 700 crore modernization of Secunderabad Railway Station and remotely launch the construction of the Periodical Overhauling (POH) workshop at Kazipet, it added.

The Secunderabad-Mahbubnagar doubling works, which will cost Rs 1,231 crore, will also begin, according to the release.

PM Modi arrives in Indore

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Indore to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, a day dedicated to overseas Indians.

This is the 17th edition of the mega gathering of NRIs from various countries who have arrived in Madhya Pradesh’s economic city.

The Prime Minister was met at the Indore Airport by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra, and state BJP president V D Sharma.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai C Patel and other Cabinet ministers were also present at the airport.

This event is significant because it provides a common platform for the overseas Indian community to engage with the Central Government and the native people of the land.

With the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh coming up at the end of the year, the ruling BJP will try to use this momentum to kick-start its campaign.

Prime Minister Modi will address the gathering and hold interactive meetings with NRIs during his day-long visit.
