PM Modi to visit Hyderabad on April 8 to inaugurate various infrastructure projects

On April 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Hyderabad to inaugurate and lay the foundation for various infrastructure projects worth Rs 11,355 crore.

Apart from laying the foundation for various development projects, the Prime Minister will also flag off the Vande Bharat train between Hyderabad and Tirupati and lay the foundation for the modernisation of Secunderabad Railway Station, according to Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy.

Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister will dedicate the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar doubling and electrification project to the nation, as well as inaugurate 13 new MMTS services that will run on newly constructed railway lines to the suburbs of Hyderabad city as part of the MMTS Phase-II.

The Prime Minister would also speak at a public meeting at the Secunderabad Parade Ground during his visit.

New life for Secunderabad railway station

According to the Minister, the premier station of the South Central Railway (SCR) will be developed to serve passengers for another 40 years and will be able to seamlessly accommodate peak-hour traffic of 25,000 passengers and close to 3.25 lakh passengers during festival surges,

The modernised station will have a built-up area of 61,912 sq. m. up from the current area of 11,427 sq. m. It will also feature an exclusive 108 m. double-level air concourse connecting the terminal building and all platforms, as well as direct access to the east and west metro stations and the Rathifile bus station. Other features include multilevel parking near the north terminal and separation of departure and arrival passengers are some of the other features that will be a part of the new station.

The works at AIIMS, Bibinagar, includes new academic course buildings, an auditorium, staff quarters, hostels, guest houses, and hospital block renovation.
