Hyderabad: The city traffic police authorities have initiated steps to create awareness among the vehicle drivers on the proposed heavy penalties for different traffic violations. The police have put up boards at important traffic junctions and roads, indicating the quantum of penalty proposed for each kind of traffic violation.
It may be recalled that following the Central Government enacting a Law providing for imposition of very heavy penalties for traffic violations, with a view to reduce the road accidents and loss of lives, the city police authorities are taking steps to increase the penalties, probably from September 1. As part of a programme to create awareness among the public, the police have put up boards with different kinds of slogans, apart from mentioning the quantum of penalty proposed under the new Act.
