Political parties join hands, against power bill: Minister

Hyderabad: Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy today accused the BJP government stated centre of hatching a conspiracy against power sector and Telangana farmers through its new power bill. He appealed to all political parties to join hands to fight against the undemocratic power bill.

During a short debate in the council on power bill amendment by the centre, he alleged that the BJP government is trying to hamper the interests of the states.  He claimed that only the Telangana state has been offering 24-hour free power to farmers.

This can be attributed to the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao he said.  Telangana Assembly passed a unanimous resolution against the power bill of the centre.  Within less time Telangana tide overpower issues and offer quality 24 hours power to agriculture Jagadish Reddy said.

Over 70 years people,  farmers,  industries faced power and other problems and Telangana sets, an example through power sector reforms.  The centre has come up with the new bill only to suppress states of their autonomy,  he charged.

The successive governments did not focus on power and other key issues. The power bill by the centre is for privatising, will deprive us of powers,  production, supply and dictate tems.  It is time to oppose such a bad bill at the national level he said.

The government has to withdraw the amendment or face public ire and angst by political parties,  he said.
