Ponnala Asserts He will Contest from Jangaon

Hyderabad: Former PCC President Ponnala Laxmaiah on Wednesday made it clear that he would contest from his Janagon assembly seat in the  assembly elections. He also scoffed the reports that the seat might be allotted grand alliance partner TJS president Prof. Kodandaram.

He said that the seat sharing arrangement among the alliance  partners was not yet over and added that discussions on the issue among  the alliance partners were still on. He also made it clear that it was wrong to presume that the seats from where the party candidates are not announced are being allotted to the grand alliance partners. “ The discussions among the alliance partners are still on. Irrespective of these discussions, I will be contesting the elections from my seat Jangaon,” he said while addressing media persons in national capital New Delhi.

Laxmaiah, who flew in to the national capital has been camping in Delhi ever since his name did not figure in the first list released by the party high command. He has called on several senior leaders of the party and urged them to field him from Janagaon assembly segment while reminding them the services he rendered to the party.  Ironically, his name also did not figure in the second list released by the party high command today.
