Hyderabad: Pre & Para Clinical Teaching Government Doctors’ Association (PPTGDA) of government medical colleges of Telangana State today thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and Minister for Health & Family Welfare Eetala Rajender for the increase in the retirement age of teaching government doctors from 58 to 65 years.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Dr Rama Devi, vice-president of Professors Association of Telangana & Physiology head of Gandhi Medical College, profusely thanked the Chief Minister and Health Minister for the increase in the retirement age of teaching government Doctors from 58 to 65 years. “It was a visionary decision for the steps towards Bangaru and Aarogya Telangana”, she said, adding that the decision will overcome the problem of deficit of teaching Doctors of more than 40% in the government medical colleges.
Dr. T. Krupal Singh, general secretary of PPTGDA, also thanked the Chief Minister and Health Minister for raising retirement age of government doctors and requested the government to apply the same to Doctors working in Directorate of Health and Telangana Vaidya Parishad.
Dr. Suleman, vice-principal, Gandhi Medical College, said when MCI allows the teaching Doctors till 75 years, restricting to others to 58 years is injustice. He also thanked the government for hike in retirement age. Dr. Babu Rao and other Doctors also spoke.
