Prince William’s covid-19 diagnosis surfaces after Palace hid the news of April

Amid a revelation, Prince William of England, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth had caught the covid-19 infection in early April but chose not to leak the news.

International media reported on Monday that the Prince, who is second-in-line to the throne after father Prince Charles, was tested positive for the disease not many days after the heir to the British throne was diagnosed.

Sources from the palace say Prince William hid the fact from the public as he believed “there were important things going on” and “he did not want to worry anyone”.

The 38-year-old Prince suffered a stronger blow of the covid, according to an anonymous source as at some point “he was struggling to breathe”, which sent everyone at the palace in a state of panic.

When contacted to comment on the news, Kensington Palace did not wish to confirm or deny the reports.

The prince was also heard saying by an attendee at the engagement that “he was determined to do business as usual” despite his ill health. In fact, they said he was one of the hardest working people in the Palace during April.

He admirably held 14 telephonic conversations and video calls while being isolated in their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk, situated in the eastern region of England.

His treatment was done in the home by the Palace doctors.

However, some royal experts questioned the reason for hiding the diagnosis of Prince William when his father’s diagnosis had been announced publicly.

Prince Charles summoned himself into isolation following his March 25th announcement of being positive for the virus with mild symptoms.

Just two days after this, Prime Minister of England Boris Johnson too was found positive for covid-19. His condition was however serious as he had to be treated in the ICU for three days after his immediate hospital admission.

During his days of isolation, Prince William had spoken about his worries on April 17th regarding Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II, and grandfather Prince Philip’s health as the latter form the higher-risk group.

“We are doing everything we can to make sure they are isolated away and protected from this but it does worry me,” the Duke told BBC.

The Prince performed all his duties and business engagements even though he was suffering from the infection. He also opened Birmingham’s Nightingale Hospital through video link.

After the diagnosis of his father and the PM within a short period of time, he was afraid his announcement would send the nation in a state of shock and panic, which stopped him from doing so, he said.

The Duke was filmed later alongside his wife and 3 children to guide the country to “Clap for Carers”.

Queen Elizabeth II, 94, and the Duke of Edinburgh, 99, sought self-isolation in their west London’s Castle of Windsor, for a precautionary measure due to their age and increased chance of infection.
