On the occasion of the annual brahmotsavam, Princess Begum Sahiba Esra Birgen, wife of the late titular Nizam Mukarram Jah, has donated 67 grams of gold jewellery worth approximately Rs.5 lakh to Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
Yadadri Temple Development Authority vice chairman G Kishan Rao handed over the gold jewellery to temple Executive Officer N Geetha at the temple on Sunday on behalf of Princess Esra, who lives in London but travels between Hyderabad and her home country of Turkey.
According to Kishan Rao, Princess Esra expressed interest in visiting the temple when he discussed the renovation project with her a few years ago. After the temple was reopened early last year, and pictures and videos were being shared widely in the media, she told him that she wanted to make a donation to the temple on her personal behalf.
As a result, she recently purchased a gold chain in Hyderabad and the same was offered to the temple authorities by Kishan Rao on her behalf.
Princess Esra was scheduled to visit the temple during her recent visit to the city, but she was unable to do so after the demise of Mukarram Jah last month.

Yadadri Sri Lakshminarsihma Swamy on Sunday appeared in the attire of ‘Govardhana Giridhari’ to devotees on the fifth day of the annual brahmotsavam.
‘Govardhana Giridhari Alankara Seva’ was performed for the ceremonial idol of Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy by the temple priests amid chants of ‘veda mantras’. Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy’s procession was carried out along the ‘mada veedhulu’ on the hill shrine.
