Rains Expected to Return to Hyderabad After Brief Respite

Rains are expected to return to the city and some parts of the state after a brief respite, according to reports. On Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad (IMD-H) issued a yellow alert, warning of light to moderate rainfall. Similar weather is expected across the state, with heavy rain predicted in some districts.

According to the forecast, most areas of Hyderabad will receive rainfall ranging from 0.10 mm to 2.40 mm until Wednesday morning. However, rains of 2.50 mm to 15.50 mm are expected in some areas, including Chandrayangutta, Rajendranagar, Malakpet, LB Nagar, Charminar, Bandlaguda, and Yousufguda, according to the forecast.

The maximum temperature in the city for the next two days was expected to be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could be between 22 and 23 degrees Celsius.

Water pooling on roads and low-lying areas, traffic congestion in most locations, wet and slippery roads, tree and electric poles falling, electricity, water, and other social disruptions for a few hours, and drainage clogging are all potential effects of the rain, according to IMD.

Traffic jams are expected in the city, and low-lying areas are likely to flood. Water may enter residential areas if the rain intensifies, officials have warned.

On Monday, there was no rain in the city. The maximum temperature recorded was 30.6 degrees Celsius, and the humidity level recorded until 8:30 a.m. was 73%, which was higher than normal.

On Tuesday, the IMD forecasted heavy rain in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Medak, and Kamareddy, among other places.

Some districts have already reported heavy rains in the last few days. The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded in Mahabubnagar (68.5 mm), followed by Rajanna Sircilla (61.3 mm) and Nirmal (61.3 mm) (58.5).
