Rajat Kumar calls all-party meet today

Hyderabad Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar has called an all-party meeting on November 9 to discuss the poll time arrangements in all districts and seeking their cooperation for smooth and peaceful conduct of the Assembly polls on December 7.

The meeting gets significance as the candidates will file their nominations representing various segments on behalf of several political parties from November 12. The CEO has extended the invitation to all the national and recognized political parties on Tuesday meeting. He asked the parties to come up with the issues they raised so far and are likely to seek clarification on the action taken by the EC on their plaints.

Rajat Kumar is expected to give them satisfying reply on the issues during the meeting on Tuesday. The EC has already sought the details of the leaders with criminal background to publish in the newspapers and air in television channels. The CEO is to explain about flawless filling up the nomination forms as they should be accepted followed by procedure. The EC will reject the nomination forms if they failed to comply with stipulated norms for the hustings. The important thing is that the candidates contesting elections with criminal background have to disclose their liabilities and to pay to Public Financial Institutions on November 9 by 6.00 pm as per the EC norms.
