Ravi Shastri opened a cricket academy in Hyderabad

Former Indian Cricket Team captain and coach Ravi Shastri opened Coaching Beyond, a cricket academy in Hyderabad. Shastri, together with Bharat Arun and R Sridhar, founded the academy.

At the cricket academy’s inauguration event, Shastri also launched the St John’s Sports Foundation.

In all these years as a player and coach, one thing has always been clear – that it is mind over matter that assists in winning any game,” Ravi Shastri remarked at the launch event. Constant practises and a can-do attitude is crucial attributes in a sportsman, but keeping a cool head is also important.

At Coaching Beyond, we are dedicated to making youth sports a good and rewarding experience for every one of our trainees. We’d like to make athletics a part of their lives, whether they pursue it professionally or not, he explained.

The Coaching Beyond team’s motto, according to him, is to “unleash the children’s ability to perform in sport and beyond.”

Our goal is to take young children from ‘Potential to Performance’ in sports and beyond by utilising the best coaching and sports science approaches available in the world today. We want to develop knowledgeable, empathetic coaches and allied support staff who understand modern scientific principles and have the intelligence to use them effectively, Shastri continued.

When asked about Virat Kohli’s 100th Test, the experienced cricketer said it is a wonderful feat to play 100 Tests for a country.

It is a tremendous feat to play the 100th Test and be termed a great of the game when he still has six to seven years to play at the greatest level, Shastri added.

Meanwhile, former Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun stated that Suratwala was brought in for coach education programmes due to his experience and the scarcity of good coaches in India.

We brought in Suratwala for our coach education programme because of his experience.  We wish to offer the coaching programme at a low and affordable cost.

In India, we need close to 5 million coaches, but we only have 3500 qualified trainers. We’re also going to have online tutorials, which would make it easier to access, Arun remarked, as published by the media.
