Hyderabad: As Congress leader A Revanth Reddy expected, Income Tax Department officials conducted raids simultaneously at his residences in Hyderabad and Kodangal and also houses of his relatives. After being appointed as TPCC working president, Revanth Reddy visited Tirumala and returned to Kodangal on Tuesday night.
According to information, there was none in Revanth Reddy’s Jubilee Hills residence except workers. An 11-member IT sleuths conducted raids on the houses of his relatives and friends in Kodangal. Revanth Reddy launched his election campaigning at 9.10am at Kodangal and at the same time, the IT sleuths raided his residences. The IT officials whisked away Revanth Reddy’s brother A Kondal Reddy’s wife along with them to interrogate her at their office. However, Revanth Reddy didn’t respond on the issue.
It may be mentioned here that Revanth Reddy had stated there was likelihood of IT raids on his real estate firm. He had alleged that the State and Central governments were hatching a conspiracy to prevent him from participating in election campaign. (NSS)
