In the midst of widespread outrage as Muslim students in Karnataka were barred from entering colleges and schools while wearing hijab, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has come out in support of a Karnataka girl Bibi Muskan Khan who was recently prominence for wearing hijab while going to her college campus when a group of Hindutva members chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ to mock her.
The RSS Muslim wing, Muslim Rashtriya Manch, has supported Bibi Muskan’s request to wear a hijab and condemned the saffron frenzy that had surrounded her.
Anil Singh, Avadh prantsanchalak of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, told reporters, “She is a daughter and sister of our community. We stand by her in her time of crisis.”
The Muslim Rashtriya Manch said in a statement that Hindu culture teaches respect for women and that those who chanted “Jai Shri Ram” and attempted to terrorize the girl was wrong.

“The girl has the constitutional right to wear a hijab,” according to the statement. If she had violated the campus dress code, the institution has the authority to take action against her.
RSS leader said the behaviour of boys sporting saffron scarfs and chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is unacceptable. They have defamed Hindu culture.
Hijab or purdah is also a part of Indian culture, and Hindu women wear purdah as desired. And the same is true for Bibi Muskan, Singh stated.
“Muslims are our brothers as per our sarsanghchalak, and the DNA of both communities is identical. I appeal to Hindus to accept Muslims as their brothers and sisters,” Singh said.

In a viral video shared on February 8, a Muslim student wearing a hijab was seen arriving on a scooter to her college. As she walked towards her class after parking her scooter, a group of Hindutva members began mocking her hijab with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
However, the student paused to yell ‘Allahu Akbar’ in response to the mob’s anti-Muslim and Hijab chants.
The girl in the video is now being praised for her bravery with many people reaching out to her in support.
