Rythu Bheema for every farmer: Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad: Health Minister, Dr C Lakshma Reddy today directed the officials concerned to ensure that Rythu Bheema facility is provided to every eligible farmer in the state.

He conducted a review meeting with leaders and officials at his residence in Hyderabad on the Rythu Bheema scheme which will provide Rs 5 lakhs to the kin of deceased farmers in the state. Lakshma Reddy said that the insurance scheme is prepare in such a way that the government will pay premium and provide the amount to the farmers’ families. He said that he will launch the insurance scheme in Urukonda on August 6 and asked the officials to take up the program in the segment simultaneously.

Such scheme is nowhere else in the country as both the Centre and chief ministers of other states are appreciating it and trying to emulate he remarked. The minister appealed to the farmer not to be panic as the government will provide insurance to 18 to 60 years age group in the state. The officials should get details of the farmers village and mandal wise and see that it is implemented successfully as that of Rythu Bandhu.

Besides starting Rythu Bandhu scheme to provide Rs 4000 per acre financial assistance towards crop investment, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken up this unique insurance scheme he said. Kin of a farmer on death will get will get immediate financial help of Rs 5 lakh in just 15 days he said. This is first of its kind scheme in the country and no other state is implementing in Telangana he claimed. He asked the officials to coordinate with local leaders for the success of the insurance scheme. Lakshma Reddy also instructed to make necessary arrangements for providing immediate succor to the farming community through insurance scheme. (NSS)
