Sabitha reviews arrangements for Inter exams with Collectors, SPs

Hyderabad: Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Department Special Secretary Chitra Ramachandran held a video conference today with all the District Collectors and Superintendents of Police and reviewed arrangements for Intermediate Public Examinations, March 2020. Theory examinations are scheduled from March 4.  The timings of theory examinations are 8.45 am to 12 noon.

The Minister stressed the importance of the Intermediate examinations and the government’s resolve to conduct them in a flawless manner.  Sabitha urged the district collectors to coordinate with all other departments like Police, Postal, Education, Revenue, TSRTC, BSNL, TSSPDCL, NPDCL, Health and ensure there was no hitch whatsoever.  The Board of Intermediate Education made all the arrangements for the conduct of exams and it is the Collectors’ responsibility to ensure all processes and procedures are implemented properly, she said.

Chitra Ramachandran advised the District Collectors to submit a status report in the form of a checklist by February 20 showing the preparedness of the District Administrations for conducting the exams.  She also asked the District Collectors to submit daily reports during the exams. She asked the Police department to extend all support for the safekeeping of the Question papers and also providing escort for the movement of the Question papers and Answer Script bundles.

The Special Chief Secretary directed the Collectors to hold review meetings with all departments concerned and keep first-hand info on each and every activity. Inspection of examination centers should be done beforehand to assess the needs and to provide all basic amenities to the students, she said. She also advised the collectors to utilize the service of the recently appointed student counselors to encourage the students to appear for the exams with confidence and not to be afraid of anything.

The Minister urged the students to concentrate on the exams and not to be worried about anything else and informed that the Board of Intermediate Education has made all arrangements for the conduct of the examinations efficiently. This year, 9,65,840 students are appearing for the exams in 1,339 centers. There will be 50 flying squads, 200 sitting squads, 24,750 invigilators.
