School bandh evokes good response in Ranga Reddy Dist

Hyderabad: The Statewide School Bandh called by the JAC of Students Unions evoked good response in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday. The schools remained shut in BN Reddy Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hastinapuram, Saroornagar, Dilsukhnagar and other areas in the RR District.

On the occasion, the students led by leaders of AISF, SFI, PDSU, AIDSO, TVV took out a rally from Srichaitanya aided college at BN Nagar to the crossroads. RR District AISF leader Gyara Kranthi Kumar said while the BJP government at the Centre was trying to saffronize the educational institutions in the country, the State government was closing down the government schools. He also said there were no basic facilities in the government schools. Besides, the private schools were collecting exorbitant fees and making education unavailable to common people.

The student leaders demanded that the government regulate fees in corporate educational institutions, give postings to TRT candidates, provide basic infrastructure in government schools, stop closing down government schools, fill teacher/ lecturer posts, construct own buildings for welfare hospitals and gurukuls.

The meeting was attended by PDSU Greater Hyderabad leader Riaz, Rangareddi SFI secretary Shanker, Prashanth Karat, PDSU Johny, AISF’s Arkenti Sai, SFI’s Paramesh and others. (NSS)
