Hyderabad : The South Central Railway has increased platform ticket price from Rs 10 to 30 keeping in view Dussehra vacation. The revised rates came into force from Saturday and will be in force till October 10.
The revised rates will be implemented at Nellore, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry railway stations. The objective behind increasing the platform ticket was to control crowds at railway stations during festival. Although it was a usual practice every year to increase platform ticket price from Rs 10 to 20, this year the SCR authorities have increased it to Rs 30 this year causing burden to people with Rs 10 additionally.
