As per the latest reports, a new Secondary Collection and Transfer Points (SC&TP) has been established in Jagadgirigutta to reduce the strain on the city’s current transfer stations and speed up the garbage disposal process.
Waste collected from homes, roadways, and other public locations in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) circles where SC&TP are functioning are no longer transported to transfer stations before being sent to the Jawahar Nagar dump yard for recycling. Instead, the waste is dumped in the SC&TP and then carried directly to the dump yard. The same strategy will be used in Jagadgirigutta as well.
The SC&TP assists in addressing concerns such as risks associated with waste transportation in open vehicles, spillages on roads, soil contamination, leachate, and garbage scattered around transfer stations.
Meanwhile, Zonal Commissioner (Kukatpally) V Mamatha tweeted about the facility, saying, New secondary Transfer station (SC&TP) is prepared for operations in Jagadgirigutta #kukatpallyzone.
