With the efforts of Delhi Government, the hospitals received supplies of medical oxygen late on Thursday night around 1am. However, the hospitals said that they only received only two MT of oxygen which would last only for a few hours.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Friday early morning released a statement and said that the Ventilators and Bipap are not working effectively. They are resorting to manual ventilation in ICUs and the ED.

In the statement, they said that the life of another 60 “sickest patients” is at risk and an urgent intervention (from the Delhi government) is required.

Delhi Government Requests Centre For More Oxygen Supply

As per the reports, Delhi government recently slammed Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments for blocking the supply of medical oxygen to Delhi. The medical oxygen is allotted by the Central Government and since Delhi does not have its own supply of medical oxygen, the supply comes from UP and Haryana.

In a recent virtual addressing, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Central Government has supplied them with 480 tonnes of medical oxygen against the need for 700 tonnes of supply everyday. However, the Delhi government is grateful and needs more supply.
