Smriti Irani slams KCR govt for not inducting a woman in cabinet

Medak: Criticizing the TRS government, Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani today asserted that Modi government was endeavouring for empowerment of women in the country.

She was addressing a well-attended first Mahila Sankaravam public meeting organised by the State BJP Mahila Morch at Chegunta in Medak district. Chegunta falls under Dubbak constituency of Siddipet district. Smuriti said the TRS government has insulted women by not inducting a single woman in the cabinet where as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working for welfare of women. She alleged that the State government has totally neglected weavers and failed to implement weavers’ welfare schemes.

The Union minister said it was the Modi government that has increased maternity leave up to six months and identity cards were issued to 80 lakh beedi workers. She said the Centre has sanctioned two lakh houses in the State, but KCR did not build the houses.

State BJP president Dr K Laxman and others also attended the public meeting. (NSS)
