Special Investigation Team to probe Aurangabad riots: Police Commissioner

A Special Investigation Team to probe Aurangabad riots cases to bring culprits to book for creating trouble in which two persons has been died and crores of properties damaged said by City Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be headed by DCP Dipali Dhate-Ghadge and will investigate different aspects of riot-related incidents, including violence, arson, looting of shops, setting houses and shops afire and stone pelting.

This team will also record the statements of the riot affected people and arresting of the culprits and collecting the evidence to inspect riot with collecting samples, he said. It will ensure that a charge sheet will be filed in three month period. Other members of SIT team are ACP Champa Shevgan, Suresh Wankhede, Ghanshyam Sonawane, Ajab Singh Karwai, Srikant Anvale, Avinash Aghav, Hemant Todikar among other police officers.

However the situation of the Aurangabad city is back to normal and under control with heavy security.
