Following a resolution passed against the Incharge CEO Telangana State Wakf Board Shahnawaz Qasim, IPS, a feud ensued between the ‘Chief and the Chairman’ as the former wants to run the institution abiding the law while the latter intent to hold sway in the office as per his own whims and fancies that resulted into disruption of routine affairs in the Wakf Board.
The face off between the Incharge CEO and the Chairman Mohd.Masiullah Khan unfolded after a resolution was passed seeking repatriation of Shahnawaz Qasim on October 20. It is said that the entire Wakf Board was divided after the resolution was passed against the official as people having allegiance with the Chairmen are on the the view that the Incharge CEO must be removed as he was so impassive towards the affairs of the board. “As the official is looking over the affairs of more than one department at a time, he can’t focus all the time on Wakf Boards’ affairs that need a full time office to do so,” they contended.
Disagree with the narrative, the another group favouring the Incharge CEO contended that the duty bound official is popping in the eyes of his rival group having allegiance with the Chairman as the CEO wants to run the office as per the law.
Apart from that, they said, “The group – led by Chairman Mohd.Masiullah Khan and want to see removal of Incharge CEO, wasn’t sincere enough towards the smooth functioning of the affair in the Wakf Board as they appeared. They are actually not happy with the way the official is declining to work as per their whims and fancies.”
Terming the Incharge CEO as a duty bound official who was taking care of more than one department simultaneously, they said, “When the Board sought a full time CEO in place of the present Incharge, the government can resolve the issue by appointing the same Incharge CEO with a full time charge.”
“If the Chairman and his supporting members are really sincerely enough about the smooth functioning of the affairs in Wakf Board, they should pressurise the government for elevation of officials role from an Incharge CEO to Full Time CEO as Shahnawaz Qasim is a honest official with a sufficient experience in hand,” they contended.
