Hyderabad: Stating that Suryapet, Nalgonda and Khammam Districts were reeling under severe drought conditions, BJP leader DK Aruna here on Tuesday alleged that there was no response from the State government despite such an alarming situation. She also alleged that the State government was not even talking about farmers’ loan waiver scheme.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Aruna said the bankers in the State were not giving loans to the farmers due to their existing loans. She also alleged that the farmers were being harassed by the bankers in the name of repayment of their loans. She ridiculed that the State government was sleeping like mythological “Kumbha Karna”. She demanded that the State government release its agriculture plan. She claimed that 25 lakh famers in the State didn’t get Centre’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme funds as the State government didn’t send their names to the Centre. (NSS)
