Steps discussed how to improve Traffic Transport Management

Hyderabad: M. Dana Kishore, Commissioner, GHMC said a meeting has been held that how to improve the existing Traffic Transport Management, Signaling System in the near future where discussions were held with the officials of Bangalore based Bharat Electronics Limited along with the Commissioner of Police, Additional DG, Addl. Commissioner Law & Order and senior officials of various departments today at GHMC Head Office.

The Commissioner said that an action plan has been prepared for overall development of the Traffic System. Keeping in view of the works to be taken up for the next 40 years, a study has also been made with LEE Associates that how will be the Traffic problems which are going to be faced has also been discussed along with Power Point Presentation given by the LEE Associates.

As per the study by the LEE Associates, it was planned to spend Rs 200 crore worth of works in the next two years by constituting a Senior Officers committee to prepare an action plan for taking up the works. A Twin Command Control Towers center will be coming up soon for which the GHMC will coordinate among the Traffic and Police departments for overall functioning of the project duly sharing data to make the system more effective to ease traffic problems in the future course with the help of
expert agencies.

The Traffic signals, which are being maintained by BEL a lot of problems are being faced how to sort out the issues duly coordinating with the higher ups in the next 15 days with which the traffic system will be improved in a more effective manner, said the Commissioner.

Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Jeethender, Addl. DG,  Anil Kumar, Addl. Commissioner of Police, senior officials from various Heads of Departments,  Musharaf Ali, Addl. Commissioner, IT,  Devender, CCP attended the meeting. (NSS)
