Hyderabad: A class seven student of a private school died and five others were injured when a truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw carrying the school children here on Tuesday.
According to police, the accident occurred in Habshiguda around 7.50 a.m. when eight students in the auto-rickshaw were on their way to school.
Eyewitnesses said the three-wheeler flipped after being hit and one of the students was thrown out who was crushed under a sand-laden truck. The deceased was identified as 13-year-old Avanti Kumar.
Avanti Kumar’s brother Vedant Kumar was among the injured in the accident. All were students of the Bhashyam School in Habshiguda.
The truck driver escaped from the scene. A case was registered against him at the Uppal police station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
