Supreme Court grants bail to MP Raghurama krishna Raju

The Supreme Court of India today granted conditional bail to the ruling YSRCP MP K. Raghuram Krishna Raju from AP in a sedition case filed against him by CID police.

It said that the charges framed against Raju were not so serious that they required judicial custody. It said that it was granting bail to the accused by taking into consideration his health condition.

It however asked Raju to extend his cooperation to the police in the investigation of the Case. It also asked him to not speak to media persons and make comments on his social media account. It asked the officials to Govt notice to Raju a day before his interrogation. It said that Raju could appear before the police along with his advocate.

 Senior advocate of the Supreme Court Mukul Rohatgi argued the case on behalf of Raju. Earlier, the SC observed the report submitted by the three-member committee of the doctors of the army hospital from the city. It said that it was not different from the report of the army hospital and added that the report did not talk about the reasons behind the injuries on the body of the petitioner.
