T-TDP Charges KCR with Forgetting Promises Made to Girijans

Hyderabad: Accusing chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of forgetting the promises made to Girijans before elections, Telangana TDP president L Ramana said the former has failed to take measures for the welfare of the Girijans in the state.

He was addressing a function organised in NTR trust bhavan on the occasion of International girijan day. Ramana and other TDP leader garlanded the photo of Komarambhim.

The TDP state chief demanded the state government to give details of expenditure incurred on the welfare of Girijans as the TRS government claimed that it has spent Rs 5.60 lakh crore during the last four years. He said the TRS government has recently claimed that it has created panchayat in every tanda. In fact, if it is committed for the welfare of Girijans, the government should allot Rs one crore to each village panchayat and provide basic amenities, Ramana demanded.

He said the government should immediately implement distribution of three acre of land to each girijan family, 12 per cent reservation and provide ownership on the land which they are irrigating for their livelihood in forest.

Ramana warned that his party would not keep quiet if the government did injustice to Girijans in the name of Haritha Haram. TDP polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, state party vice president Palvai Rajanikumari, official spokesperson Kommaneni Sai Vikas and other leaders spoke on the occasion.(NSS)
