TADJAC demands Rs 20 lakh relief for auto driver’s suicide due to financiers harassment

Hyderabad: Telangana Auto Drivers Unions JAC has demanded that the police immediately arrest Padma Priya Financiers, responsible for death of Auto Driver Shaik Jani in the hospital and also demanded Rs 20 lakh compensation to the deceased’s kin.

  The JAC also announced that the Auto Drivers in the Telangana State will observe one-day Auto Bandh on January 8 in protest against Shaik Jani’s death and demanded that the State government formulate effective guidelines to stop the ever-increasing harassment of private auto financier.

Addressing the media here today, Senior Auto Union leader       Mohd Amanullah Khan said deceased Shaik Jani, Auto Driver of Miryalguda, who was undergoing treatment in Gandhi Hospital after his suicide attempt on December 21 died in the hospital on Wednesday. He said if the ever-increasing harassment by the private auto financiers against Auto Drivers was not stopped by formulating effective guidelines, more poor Auto Drivers will be forced to commit suicides as last resort.

Telangana Auto drivers union leaders B. Venkatesham, M.A. Saleem, Mohd Qadeer, V. Kiran, A. Satti Reddy, Mirza Rafatullah Baig and Mohd Azeemuddin also participated in the media conference and appealed to the auto drivers to make their proposed one-day auto bandh on January 8 as success as a part of All India Workers Bandh against the Centre and protest against the private auto financiers’ harassment and demanded that the State government formulate guidelines to stop the private auto financier’s harassment.  (NSS)
