Talasani distributes buffalos at Mulkanur

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav here today formally launched the distribution of milching animals worth Rs 110.87 cr at Mulkanur in Bheemadevara Pally Mandal of Warangal district on Saturday. Finance Minister E Rajender, MP B Vinod Kumar, MLA Satish Kumar, women members of cooperative diaries and officials were present. With this, the program was launched across the state for which the government has earmarked about Rs 1500 cr and to benefit about five lakhs of members of government dairies.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Yadav said that the animal distribution will surely prove handy for the members to increase milk production. The buffalos and cows were purchased by spending Rs 110.87 Cr. It will cater to the growing milk needs of people besides helping them benefit financially. The government is keen to develop those relying on milk business and focus is on more production he said. To mark the occasion he distributed animals to 88 beneficiaries who are the members of the dairies.

The minister said that they plan to spend Rs 1500 cr for the prestigious scheme. He praised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for launching the scheme. It will benefit the members including 19307 of Mulkanur Women Dairy, 63,304 of Vijaya Dairy and 43006 of Mother Dairy. As per the guidelines Rs 80000 will be spent to buy each milching animal he said. The government is providing 75 percent subsidy to SC, ST members, 50 percent to BC members of the dairies to get buffalos and cows. In addition to Rs 5000 to transport each animal and insurance facility to the animals for three years, the officials were asked to distribute 300 kg fodder towards animal food he said. (NSS)
