Hyderabad: Alleging that Ministers G Jagdeesh Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav were speaking rubbish, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had conceded separate Telangana State though public representatives of Andhra Pradesh vehemently opposed division of the State. He asked Jagdeesh Reddy to speak after knowing history of Talasani Srinivas, who was anti-Telanganaite since beginning.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Mallu Ravi reminded Jagdeesh Reddy that the Chief Minister and his family members met Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi after formation of Telangana State. Then Congress-led UPA government was in a dilemma whether separate Telangana State was important or giving special status to the State. Finally, then UPA government had created separate Telangana State by cajoling Andhra leaders with special category status to Andhra Pradesh. The Congress Working Committee had decided to give special status to Andhra Pradesh State immediately after coming to power, he informed. (NSS)
