Taliban Shuts Down Afghan Girls High School To Draw Plan In Accordance With Islamic Law

As per the latest updates, the Taliban has ordered the secondary girl’s schools in Afghanistan to close only hours after they reopen, saying they would stay shut until an arrangement was drawn up as per the Islamic regulation for them to resume.

The Taliban Education Ministry said last week that schools for all students, including girls, would open the nation over on March 23 following quite a while of limitations on instruction for secondary school girls.

A service representative on Tuesday (March 22) delivered a video inviting all students back to class. On Wednesday, be that as it may, a service notice said the girls’ schools would stay shut until an arrangement was drawn up as per the Islamic regulation and Afghan culture, government news organization Bakhtar News detailed.

“We illuminate all girls’ secondary schools and those schools that are having female students above Class six that they are off until the following request,” said the notification.

Taliban representative Inamullah Samangani affirmed the legitimacy of the request. Indeed, even before the Taliban backtracked on its declaration, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) had communicated suspicion about the Taliban’s assurance to permit girls to return to school.

“The Taliban’s promise to permit all girls’ secondary schools in Afghanistan to return on March 23, 2022, needs cautious observing,” HRW said on Tuesday, RFE/RL announced.

“Taliban proclamations are frequently altogether different from Taliban activities,” said HRW’s Heather Barr. “Nobody ought to accept that the Taliban has prevented hindering girls from secondary training until the proof starting from the earliest stage that to be the situation.”
