Talks on seat sharing among Mahakutami partners inconclusive

Hyderabad : Seat sharing talks among allies of Mahakutami would be finalised by Monday, a source of Mahakutami said. A meeting in this connection was held in a hotel at Lakdikapul to discuss in detail about sharing of seats. It was attended by Congress leaders and TJS representatives. They discussed on number of seats to be allotted among kutami allies. However, a final decision would come by Monday. Congress state affairs incharge Kuntiya, PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, Kodandaram, Dilip Kumar and others participated in the meeting.

After the meeting, TJS president Kodandaram clarified that his party candidates would not contest elections on Congress party symbol. TJS is a recognised party and CEC would allot a symbol to the party, he said. Kodandaram refused to reveal details of the discussion. It was stated that in the initial stage, TJS demanded 16 Assembly seats, but the Congress seems to have agreed to allot nine.

The Mahakutami parties are eager to announce names of their candidates as TRS candidates have already begun election campaigning in their constituencies. (NSS)
