TDP Demands White-Paper on Irrigation Project Costs

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP senior leader and polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy today demanded a white paper on the expenditure of on-going irrigation projects in the state.

Speaking to media at NTR trust bhavan , he alleged that the state government has increased the cost of the on-going irrigation projects indiscriminately. Ravula accused the government of issuing G.Os clandestinely without any proper causes. He asked the government to clarify who will be benefited with the increase of construction cost of the projects. Whether government has taken opinion of experts or it has increased the cost just for contractors sake, he questioned.

Stating that the government should conduct an in-depth study on the cost of the projects, the TDP leader demanded a white paper on the expenditure occurred on the projects. Though the government is spending thousands of crores of rupees, the pace of construction is very tardy, he alleged.

The government is encouraging liquor sale in the state, Ravula alleged stating that efforts are being made to keep open the bars till 1 o’ clock in the night instead of midnight.

Taking a dig at KTR, Ravula said the former is himself branding as a “lion”, and wondered why a lion is roaming in the villages. Both KCR and KTR won elections with the support of TDP, he reminded.(NSS)
