Telangana, Andhra districts to get piped natural gas

Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) offered 20 districts (six Geographical areas) in Telangana and three districts (one geogrpahical area) in Andhra Pradesh for bidding to build networks and infrastructure for making available City Gas Distribution (CGD) and setting up CNG stations.

Under ninth City Gas Distribution (CGD) Bidding Round, 20 districts –Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Jagtial, Pedapalle, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Warangal (urban and rural), Mahabubabad, Medak, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medchal, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri in Telangana will get CGD infrastructure while Hyderabad already have Gas Pipeline and connected to 7,757 domestic consumers currently, said Mr Satpal Garg, Member of PNGRB at a roadshow here aimed at inviting investors to participate in the bidding.

On the infrastructure part, he said about 16,000 km of pipeline is already in operation in Hyderabad and another 12,000 Km pipeline is under construction.

“Three districts in Andhra Pradesh – Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram will get piped natural gas while five districts have already got Gas pipe lines and connected to 14,332 domestic consumers so far”.
