Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Removes Barricades for Open and Accessible Governance

As Revanth Reddy assumed the role of Telangana’s new Chief Minister, significant changes were announced to enhance accessibility and openness. During the swearing-in ceremony, Reddy conveyed that the iron barricades surrounding Pragati Bhavan, serving as both the CM’s office and residence, were being dismantled.

In an effort to make the CM’s space more accessible to the public, workers were seen removing the barricades with the assistance of the police.

Furthermore, Reddy unveiled plans to rename Pragati Bhavan as ‘Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan.’ He emphasized the intention to foster a more inclusive and people-friendly atmosphere. Reddy also announced the initiation of a ‘Praja Darbar’ at 10 AM on December 8, providing a direct platform for public interaction.

This move aligns with Reddy’s commitment to transparency and citizen engagement, symbolized by the removal of physical barriers. The developments occurred during the swearing-in ceremony attended by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, where Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office to Reddy and 11 other ministers. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was sworn in as the state’s first Dalit deputy chief minister during this historic event.
