Hyderabad: The strengthening of the Irrigation Projects is the priority of the Telangana Chief Minister K. ChandraShekhar Rao who wants to reinforce the  Irrigation Department. Currently, the Department of Irrigation is divided into large, medium, small, IDC, projects, packages.

The CM  view that all these should come under one umbrella. He will hold wide-ranging meetings with the heads of two key engineering departments in the state. A review meeting with the officials of the Irrigation Dept will be held tomorrow at 2 pm and another review meeting will be held a day after tomorrow with the officials of the R&B Dept.

The CM viewed that the Telangana Region was badly neglected in the United AP State and the regional discrimination was met out with this region.

He said that Telangana had achieved amazing successes in the field of irrigation within six years of its formation as a separate state with the implementation of plans and comprehensive understanding.

He said the Telangana government would take up the construction of huge projects and rejuvenate the ponds, adding that the irrigation problem would be permanently resolved. He said the availability of irrigated water has increased and crops are plentiful. Agricultural cultivation has also expanded
