Telangana Congress Gears Up for Intensive Lok Sabha Campaign

The Congress party’s Telangana state unit is preparing for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, with the ambitious goal of winning at least 14 seats.

Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who attended the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) preliminary meeting in Delhi, expressed optimism that the party would win 13 or 14 seats.

The conference, presided over by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, gave Lok Sabha coordinators with insights into the Congress’ strategies via a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation. Coordinators received critical information on viable tactics for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

According to Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, the meeting focused on electoral strategy. He underlined the people’s desire to see the Congress restore power at the national level, as well as the party’s resolve to capturing all 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Prabhakar stated that the BRS and BJP will compete for second and third place, and that Congress, if in power at the central, could considerably assist the state with additional funding. He questioned the present government’s financial predicament, arguing that a Congress victory in all 17 Lok Sabha seats would allow for the execution of extra welfare packages while also upholding the party’s six promises in the state. Telangana’s Congress party is preparing for an aggressive campaign ahead of the 2018 Lok Sabha elections.
