Telangana Covid-19 recovery rate hits 97 percent

Hyderabad:- Telangana’s covid-19 recovery rate has crossed the mark of 97 percent with 643 people recovering from the virus in the last 24hrs an official said on Sunday.

Telangana state has reported 592 new positive cases during the last 24hrs take ing the total number of cases to 281414.

Three more people had died due to the virus during the same period, leads the death toll of the state to 1513.

Telangana’s recovery rate of 97.01 percent is higher than the national average recovery rate of 95.5 percent.

The state covid-19 fatality rate remains at 0.53 percent whereas the national average fatality rate is 1.5 percent.

According to Dr.G.srinivas Rao, the director-general of health and family welfare, 44.96 percent of the deaths were due to Covid-19 while the rest 55.04 percent were on account of comorbidities.

The state at present has 6888 active cases and of them, 4719 are in institutional or home isolation.

Over 90 percent of bed in private and government-run hospitals which treat covid-19 patients are vacant.

In 61 government hospitals treating covid-19 patients 8,561 beds available. A total of 768 people were undergoing treatment in these hospitals whereas 7,793 beds are vacant. Similarly, in 219 private hospitals treating Covid patients, only 1,401 beds were occupied. Out of 7,920 beds, 6,519 were vacant.

The new cases reported during the last 24hrs Hyderabad has 119 cases, Medchal Malkajgiri saw 70 news cases followed by Rangareddy with 57 new cases, Warangal urban with 40 new cases Karimnagar with 26 new cases, and Snagareddy with 20 new cases.

41,970 tests were conducted in the state during the last 24hrs, Government-run laboratories have tested 38,250 while the remaining 3,720 samples were tested in private labs.

The daily testing target for the state is 5,600 per day as per the World Health Organisation (WHO) benchmark of 140 per million per day, officials said.

Out of the total of 2,80,195 positive cases so far, 70 percent of cases (1,96,990) were asymptomatic while the remaining 30 percent of cases (84,424) were symptomatic.
