Telangana demands timely supply of fertilizers

Telangana Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy has demanded the Centre to supply adequate fertilizers for the Kharif season in Telangana.

The agriculture minister, Niranjan Reddy, held a review meeting with officials concerned here on Monday, alleged that the union government was deliberately delaying in the supply of fertilizers to the State despite the fact that the Kharif season will commence from June 1 in Telangana.

The Centre has agreed to supply about 24.45 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers, including 10.5 lakh metric tonnes of urea, 9.4 lakh metric tonnes of complex, 2.23 lakh tonnes of DAP and 2.25 lakh tonnes of MOP, to the Telangana State for the Kharif season said and added that the Centre is not committed to its promise and is deliberately delaying the supply of fertilizers to the Telangana in the name of Russia-Ukrain war.

The issue has been brought to the notice of union fertilizers department on several occasions, demanding early supply of fertilizers. But, there is no proper response and the Centre seems to be delaying deliberately for the supply of fertilizers, the Minister alleged
