Telangana: Discounts on ‘e-Garuda’ AC buses from TSRTC

Beginning Thursday, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will offer discounted fares on the newly introduced AC e-Garuda bus from Hyderabad to Vijayawada for a month.

The bus fare from Miyapur to Vijayawada, which was previously Rs 830, is now only Rs 750. Similarly, the fare from MGBS to Vijayawada, which was previously Rs 780, has been reduced to Rs 710.

TSRTC’s managing director, VC Sajjanar, urged citizens to take advantage of this and make use of the discounted offer on e-Garuda services. He also requested public support for the organization and public transportation system.

TSRTC recently began service on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad route with a special new batch of 50 AC electric buses.

TSRTC’s Managing Director, VC Sajjanar, made the announcement on his official Twitter handle, stating that the 12 metre-long electric AC buses with a capacity of 41 seats will be available soon and will cover 325 kilometers on a single charge.

TSRTC has also recently launched a Bus Tracking app, which is now available on the Google Play Store. Its goal is to provide real-time information about bus stops, arrival times, and bus location.

The much awaited eco-friendly electric Air-Conditioned (AC) buses known as ‘E-Garuda’ was made available to passengers starting Tuesday. On Tuesday, the TS Roads Transport Corporation (TSRTC), which has decided to operate 50 electric AC buses on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route, launched 10 EV buses.

The remaining 40 EV buses will be made available in stages by the end of this year. Along with environmental benefits, the EV bus fleet is expected to provide a more pleasant and comfortable travel experience for passengers traveling between Vijayawada and Hyderabad.

According to TSRTC officials, the electric AC buses will be operated in such a way that they will be available to commuters every 20 minutes on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route.

The Corporation has said that 1860 new electric buses will be available in the next two years, with 1300 buses serving the city of Hyderabad and 550 serving distant areas. Aside from them, in the coming months, a total of 10 double-decker buses will start operating in Hyderabad.
