Telangana: Face masks mandatory for intermediate students appearing for exams

The Additional District Collector of Hyderabad Venkateshwar has said that masks are mandatory in examination halls due to the Telangana government making masks mandatory in public places. Therefore, students appearing for the upcoming Intermediate examinations should wear masks.

In his directive, the authorities have been asked to complete the arrangements for Board exams and to assure a smooth examination process.

A review meeting was held on Monday by the Additional District Collector in his chamber with officials from the education, medical, police, water board, electricity, RTC, and postal departments, concerning the Intermediate examinations.

Around 1.53 lakh students are taking final exams in 234 examination centres in the Hyderabad district.

In addition to travelling on their routes, students with route bus passes can also commute to the routes of their exam centres by showing both their hall tickets and bus passes to the bus conductors.

A notice has been posted at local photocopy centres within the examination centres asking them to keep the shutters down.

RDO Suryalatha, District Intermediate Officer Vaddenna, Additional DCP Prasad, Police Inspector Ramachandran, Water Works Swamy, Medical Health Officer Srinivas Rao, Postal Department staff Shashant Kumar, RTC Divisional Manager Janireddy attended the Intermediate exams review meeting.

COVID-19 in Telangana

On Tuesday, Telangana reportedly added 30 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the complete total to 7,91,857.

The highest number of cases were reported from Hyderabad, with 17 cases.

As the number of deaths continues to remain at 4,111, no new fatalities have been reported due to the result of the infectious disease.

According to a Health Department bulletin, 24 people recovered from the infection, raising the cumulative total recovery count to 7,87,508 so far.

According to the bulletin, 15,633 samples were tested on Tuesday, and there were 232 active cases.
