Telangana has achieved 10.4% growth in GSDP: KTR

Industry Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday said that Telangana has posted a 10.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) as compared to the national average of 6.6 per cent year-one-year growth during the financial year 2017-18.

Telangana has been ranked as first in ease of doing business and TS-iPass contributed significantly to the same. The Minister said that TS-iPass was started in June 2015 and has attracted total investment of Rs 1.23 lakh crore of which 47 per cent was contributed on the last financial year i.e 2017-18. “Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) has developed 148 industrial parks with core infrastructure during 2017-18 and allotted 195.25 acre to 460 industries”, he said. In the Mining sector, the Industry Minister underlined that the Department has fetched a revenue of total Rs 3,704 crore as against a target of Rs 3,500 crore. On sand, during 2004 to 2014 the revenue stood at only 39.4 crore, whereas in Telangana Government from 2014-2018, the revenue would be about 1,600 crore. “An average of Rs 400 crore per year as compared to Rs 4 crore per year during the Congress regime. This shows how the state government was moving forward”, he said.
